a new novel is coming ... after a man discovers humanity has been exterminated more than 50 times in the past, he must try to prevent the next purge.
Meet Alan Felyk
From the earliest moments of my childhood, I found myself gazing up at the night sky, captivated by the vastness of the Universe and the mysteries it held. Questions swirled in my mind: Why does the Universe exist? What place do we, as humans, occupy within this immense cosmic tapestry? Are we the central players in this grand drama, or merely tiny cogs in an unfathomable machine?
Though I only began to put my thoughts to paper in the later years of my life, choosing fiction as my vessel, my hope has always been to spark reflection and wonder in my readers. To invite them to ponder the same profound questions that have fueled my imagination and curiosity for so long.
Writing, for me, is not just a craft but a journey—a way to explore the unknown and share that exploration with others. Through stories, I aim to bridge the gap between the infinite cosmos and the intimate human experience, weaving together the threads of science, philosophy, and emotion into narratives that resonate deeply and linger long after the last page is turned.

My Journey
The son of Ukrainian immigrants, I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1950. My family moved to Cañon City, Colorado in 1957, and I graduated from Cañon City High School in 1968.
A University of Colorado graduate in news-editorial journalism, I worked as a public information aide for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) while earning my degree.
I started my newspaper career as a sports editor for Sentinel Newspapers in Denver and moved to general assignment reporting. I became senior editor of the four newspapers in Adams County. I also wrote freelance music articles for several national publications.
In 1984, I joined Lockheed Martin (then Martin Marietta) as a technical editor. I worked on numerous new-business proposals for the Department of Defense (DOD) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). I retired in 2011 from my post as manager of the Lockheed Martin's Space Systems Company Editorial and Graphics department in Denver.
During my life, I also worked as a groundskeeper, janitor, road crew worker, survey crew assistant, busboy, waiter, houseboy, and taxi driver.
I'm a serious music fan, and I enjoy comedy and science fiction. And, of course, there's the writing.
I'm an active member of the Denver Writers Workshop, and I live in Lakewood, Colorado.
